Last night (being the super supportive friend I am), I went out to dinner with my Skinny Friend Who Doesn’t Get Fat (SFWDGF), her new boyfriend, and Dan. We went to this AMAZING Thai restaurant called Galae Thai in Alexandria per SFWDGF’s recommendation.
Boy, does she know her food (Are you surprised?). Anyways, we decided to order Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls for the appetizer. SFWDGF and her new bf also ordered sushi in addition to their appetizers. I wish I could eat that much! The table ordered their entrees (can’t remember what everyone got) and loved every bite. My Chicken Pad Thai was to die for. It was the type of meal that I wanted to last so long just so I could savior every last bite.
Dan had a spicy dish. When he took his first bite, he started sweating, drank some water, and then said how these little green beans were very spicy. Then he proceeded to double dog dare me to eat one. I am not a fan of spicy food – never had been. So why would Mr. Laughing Soul want me to see me suffer? He said, “Just to see your reaction.”
ARE WE IN 5TH GRADE?
Oh and if I ate the mean little bean, he said he would buy my ice cream at Coldstone later. Hmm… the pain and suffering of eating a spicy little bean is not worth a $4 cup of ice cream which I can buy myself. Maybe if I was in 5th grade and low on funds. MAYBE.
The restaurant also had some cool dishware and the plates looked like little monsters (Okay, not really but in my head they did) because they had lips. SFWDGF said it was to make it easier to scoop of rice. They also had these little beds for the chopsticks (not sure if they’re called beds but they looked like beds!). Dan (being the 5th grader he is) decided to put them on his fingers. Here he is in action:

After dinner we went to Coldstone. I ordered my always yummy low fat treat: Sinless ice cream, strawberries, yellow cake, and a chocolate of choice (chocolate chips are good!). Dan ordered Cotton Candy with some random mix-in’s and honestly, it tasted like crap. Poor Dan.
Today I am procrastinating working on school work and then I’m determined to go on a bike ride with Dan because it’s 76 degrees out.
I hope everyone has an excellent Saturday!
xoxo,
Julie

Hi Julie! So glad all of the issues got worked out and you’re up and running. I am going to fix this in my reader. Chicken Pad Thai sounds delicious and going out to dinner with you and Dan sounds very entertaining
I love Coldstone!
I am not a 5th grader! 5th graders are immature, rude and spend way too much time trying to be cool. I am more like a 4th grader, Immature, silly and find everything funny and not concerned about what people think of me.
Besides, you might have liked the bean and said it was very good, how do you know if you don’t like it if you never try it Sam I Am??
It was a great night, I had lots of fun.
Love you, and your new design.

And I’m so sad that the Coldstone in my neighborhood, Cleveland Park, went out of business. When does a COLDSTONE go out of business?!?!
