Nipples, Tiaras, and Mascara

TGIF everyone!

As I’m writing this it’s Thursday night and I just got back from the Olive Garden with my girls, Laura and Rachel. This morning I was concerned about going to the Olive Garden so I made sure to plan ahead and make sure I knew what to order so my Weight Watchers points wouldn’t sky rocket. I ended up ordering Linguine alla Marinara which was only 8 points. I only ate half of it – it was very filling! Also, I had salad with low fat dressing (I had NO idea they had that until denimdebutante told me via Twitter) and 4 breadsticks (3 points each!). I can’t wait to eat my leftovers for lunch.

After Olive Garden, we went to Tyson‘s to look around Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I’m very proud of myself because since the sale started I haven’t stepped foot in the store. Well, that all changed today. First, I scored some really cute retro-looking white sunglasses for only $4. They were a steal and practically given to me! Next, I found some mascara.

Yes. Some mascara. This morning, I decided that I needed a new mascara. Something to make my eyelashes dance in the wind. So what’s a blogger to do? Well, I tweeted about it! I got a TON of different suggestions. Most were typical (Lancome, Dior, Estee Lauder) and some were not so typical (Fiberwig, Trish McEvoy). With those suggestions in mind, I went to the makeup counters until I found a woman who seemed to know it all. She walked us around to different counters and suggested different brands. What did I choose? Trish McEvoy. I was in awe. Now, I was wearing mascara at the time (Stiletto‘s which is a GREAT drugstore mascara!) and she put Trish over top my current mascara.

I am not kidding – my eyelashes looked fake they were so long. FAKE. I almost screamed and hugged the woman at once. Basically the mascara creates “tubes” around your lashes and therefore thickening and lengthening all at once! Woot!

I’m not going to do a full-on review because I want to give this product at least a week before I say “I’m in love with a tube of mascara.” So, we will see!

After Nordstrom, we headed over to Macy’s. We tried some shoe’s on and then laid our eyes on some mannequins:

I’m sure I’ve seen this before but it shocks me every time. WHAT IS WITH THE NIPPLE BONERS? Really! On mannequins!? Is it cold in there? Are they trying to portray that the shopping mall is supposed to be cold? Are nipple hard on’s supposed to be sexy? Well, I guess they are for some dudes who are into that. Who knows. They remind me of that Sex and the City episode where Samantha has fake nipples that she wore on some dates. Hey, whatever works.

We also ran into this lady:

Okay so maybe I’m not a girlie girl. Maybe it’s her birthday (if so, I apologize) but I do not like tiara’s unless you are a real princess. If it’s your birthday and you want to wear a tiara, go for it. Just also wear a big fat sign that says, “Hey, it’s my birthday so I’m wearing this tiara.”

Tomorrow night (or tonight depending on when you read this), I am headed to South Carolina with Dan and his grandmother Sarah. We are spending a few days at her house and then we’re off to the BEACH. I am so stoked it’s unreal – I need a vacation so badly! In a weird way I still feel burned out from the spring semester. Anywho, don’t fret because I have some super duper awesome rockin’ GUEST BLOGGERS lined up for next week.
