Video chat and future adventures

So tonight in the midst of a cleaning-my-apartment-frenzy, I got an interesting IM from Danielle (The Design Girl).

“Julie! Let’s video chat – I’m with Jill (Peeptoe Pumps and Pearls) so let’s surprise her!”

Um. I was still in my workout clothes… limited makeup (post workout)… awful hair… and I hadn’t yet met Jill “in person” before. Previously, I’ve chatted with Danielle but not Jill. Despite how I looked, when Danielle sent the invite I clicked “accept.” We ended up chatting for an hour and a half about things from snuggies to holiday cookies to blogs and everything in between.

Hehe. Chatting with them MADE MY NIGHT. I felt like I was there and now I definitely want to travel to meet them somewhere in the very near future I love blog friends and technology! Right after I hung up with Danielle and Jill, I ended up video chatting with another friend in DC who had my other friend over for the evening. We talked for 45 minutes and now I’m behind on my cleaning and writing a paper. Oh well though Friendships make my heart happy and I was happy to indulge tonight!

I’m starting to realize that I have so much to look forward to! I’m starting to get antsy. Next Wednesday, I’m driving back to DC to spend a whole 2.5 weeks with Dan.

On Thursday, I’ll be attending my girl Prianka’s Mehndi party where us girls will relax and get henna on our arms and hands. I can’t WAIT! On Friday, Dan and I will be going to her and her fiance’s (Brad) rehearsal dinner and then finally, the wedding is on Saturday. I love weddings especially when I get to experience how a different culture celebrates! I can’t wait to see Pri’s red dress (it’s Indian tradition). Hopefully, I will have lots of fun pictures to share!

On December 20th, we will be having Christmas with Dan’s family. Dinner, presents, and possibly seeing a movie will be the events of the day. I love being included in their festivities!

The reason we are having Christmas with them so early is because Dan and I are driving (yes, from DC) to St. Louis early on December 23rd. We’ll be there until the 27th. Dan has never been to St. Louis and since it’s like a second home to me, I’m thrilled that he can come along this year.

When we get back to DC, my new friend from Pittsburgh, Cami, is visiting DC with her parents! So I get to play tour guide a few days before the new year and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I love seeing DC through eyes of people who have never been!

Then, of course, is New Years Eve which is always such a fun celebration! (What to wear?!). I’m excited to kick back, drink champagne, and party it up with my close friends in Northern Virginia. What could be better?
