Hello everyone!
Just letting you know at the beginning: this is a photo-heavy post
I just got back from my friend Prianka’s Mehendi party where it was just for her girl friends to socialize, eat, dance, and, of course, get henna before she gets hitched on Saturday! I am SO happy I was able to get today and tomorrow off from work so I could participate. So right now, I’m typing carefully so my henna stays in place.
Pri’s parents’ house was decorated beautifully! Notice the red sari hanging from the ceiling. That was her mother’s wedding dress! So cool!
yum, yum
The appetizers were addicting!
Bracelets were provided as favors to wear to the wedding on Saturday. I picked the silver ones.
When Prianka arrived, she was already henna-ed up from head to toe. It took the artist about 4-hours to complete!
So much detail! Absolutely beautiful.
Upon arrival, they added more henna!
Her hands.
It’s my turn! The artist was amazing. There were two present and everyone’s henna looked different. They were so creative!
This is one of the desserts: A marshmallow-type dessert with brownie inside. I had two
Her family.
Getting henna!
My henna
My left hand looks like it has a bracelet/cuff. I love it!
Notice the different designs and details!
Woo-hoo!
Me and one of the bridesmaids, Dana
As you can tell, I had a great time and if this is any indication of how the wedding will be, I’m even more excited. I’m even more looking forward to peeling off this henna later tonight (it kinda itches). They said to peel it off, apply baby oil and keep your hands away from water. Hmm… I’m not sure about the “keep your hands away from water thing” because I do need to shower at some point.
Tomorrow, because of the henna, I’m not going to run. I had a great run today so I figure that tomorrow can be an unplanned rest day and I’ll run again on Saturday morning.
Anyways, I hope you all are well. I’m gonna catch up on some Real Housewives of Orange County now because I have the TV to myself (yea!). Dan is out at a movie with the groom (he’s a groomsman).
Catch ya later!

I love it! My dad lived in the Middle East for many years and each time I visited I would get my hands painted (that’s what I called it). It was always so much fun to see everyone’s reactions back home. It was so exotic to everyone who had never seen it before.
Have a great time at the wedding!

I have never gotten to try Henna but I want to. My question is…when you peel it off how long does it stay on your skin?
