Does anyone out here ever feel like they need fashion advice for almost every event they attend? I sure do. Sometimes, I can never pinpoint what the appropriate attire is without asking around.
So, there I was… last Sunday morning in skinny jeans, heels, and a nice top putting on the finishing touches of my mascara getting ready for Jen’s bridal shower. Suddenly, it occurs to me that my outfit may be under dressed for this occasion. Thinking quickly, I text Crystal because I knew she would give me a quick answer about my outfit and not beat-around-the-bush.
Me: I’m wearing jeans and a fancy top. I hope that’s okay. Heels too.
Crystal: I’m sure you are adorable and look great.
Me: Should I change to black slacks? Tell me the truth.
Crystal: I bet people will be in dresses.
That text convo lasted a total of one minute and 29.4 seconds. Quick, to the point, and I had my answer. Thanks, pal.
I am so happy I listened to her and showed up in an H&M grey dress with a red cardigan. I would have felt extremely under dressed at Jen’s pink and silver wedding shower. This was by far the fanciest shower I’ve ever been to. Her mom did great – just check out the photos! I felt like I was at the actual wedding!
This is an actual cake.
A cake for each bridesmaid!
Take home spices and herbs from William & Sonoma (I was totally that girl and stole another one from an empty seat. Don’t tell Jen!)
Mushroom soup… mmmm.
This entree was almost too pretty to eat. The crepes were stuffed with chicken, seafood, and spinach. The staff at Landerhaven told my table exactly 3 times that the flower was edible.
Kimberly and I being classy schmassy.
This was the best dessert on the face of
Cleveland the planet.
Happy bridal shower, Jen!
My weekend was amazing. I can’t wait to tell you about it in my next post plus share where Todd and I are going next weekend. I’m still pinching myself!
