Cocktails and Food at Bahama Breeze

I just got back from an evening walk with Todd. It was such a gorgeous night with a welcomed breeze along Lake Erie. Ahhhhh. I love living here. Have I told you that lately?


The past few days have been all about food! I love food so this is a good thing.

Tonight was no exception. Crystal invited Todd and I to join her and some other bloggers to Bahama Breeze in Orange Village, Ohio (if you are local, it’s actually right near Beachwood! You can see it off of 271). It was a complimentary happy hour event put on by Bahama Breeze to promote their new Legendary Island Cocktails. Even though I lived in Hudson for a lot of my life, I’ve never been to Bahama Breeze. My sister always raved about it though, so I was looking forward to trying it out.

From the super friendly and knowledgeable staff to the unique food and drinks, this was an unforgettable night.

As soon as we walked in, the lovely folks at Bahama Breeze brought us over our first drink, Barbados Rum Punch. They topped this yummy drink off with nutmeg. We all agreed that this was a unique take on a summery cocktail, but it definitely worked!

The White Bean Hummus kicked it off. I’m a huge hummus fan so this was very welcome. The crisp veggies helped seal the deal.

Colleen and Cameron were very attentive and passionate about Bahama Breeze.

My favorite dish of the night was the Coconut Shrimp. Every time I go on vacation, I seek out coconut shrimp and sometimes, I’m disappointed even if I’m on a tropical island! These were amazingly tasty and the sweet sauce was the perfect companion! I wanted to eat these all night and I will most likely order these when I go back (I will definitely be back!).

The Crisp Yuca Fries were awesome! I need to make these at home.

The Mojo-Marinated Pulled Pork was not my favorite, but I know tons of others who loved it. Sometimes, my taste buds are strange because I’m not a huge fan of savory + sweet. (Salty + sweet is a different story though… give me some chocolate covered pretzels any day of the week!)

The second cocktail was the Painkiller. You could definitely taste the rum and tasty tropical flavors! It was very strong.

The Conch Fritters are a Key West inspired recipe that was greatly loved!

Then came the Classic Cheeseburger Sliders. Good, nothing too amazing, but good either way!

The last drink was my favorite, the Goombay Smash. It was beach in a glass and had a piece of pineapple inside too. Plus, it was a gorgeous drink!

Chef Veronica was there the whole night and extremely sweet! I can’t wait to come back, mainly because she is so good at what she does.

To top off the already amazing evening, they brought over some desserts to pick from their Island Delights menu. Todd ordered Death by Chocolate and I went with the Mango and Strawberry Daiquiri. Mmmmm… let’s just say it was a good thing they were in small portions because I would have stuff my face with them. They were that good!

It was a crazy fun evening! I highly recommend Bahama Breeze. It’s so nice to have a tropical-like spot in Ohio. I just wish I would have visited sooner. Maybe next time I’ll bring my mom so she can try the coconut shrimp!

Goombay Smashes are my favorite! We brought back a recipe from the Bahamas and keep meaning to make them at home.

It WAS a fantastically fun and tasty night! I was STUFFED!! I loved the pulled pork on plantains – it was actually one of my favs. I was totally impressed with their food – even their salsa rocked! Whenever you want to go back, just say the word. I’ll be there in a flash!

They brought us soooo much food! I’m with you on the coconut shrimp, super yum! The pulled pork was not my fav either, but Kevin scarfed it down when I brought leftovers for him. We’re definitely going to use our $10 off coupon, we could triple date!
