There’s so much going on this week! Let’s get to the recap of the weekend, shall we?
On Friday, I drove throughout the hot afternoon to DC. I listened to Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger. It was a random find at the library and a book I’ve heard raved about before, but never picked up myself. It’s an awesome chick lit book that discusses the dating lives of three friends in their late twenties/early thirties. Totally up my alley and it made the hours pass! I still need to finish it though!
I arrived at KK’s house around 6:30 and her girlfriend, S, was waiting to greet me! The last time I saw them was in March and I’ve missed them. I’ve never been to their house before and it was so cute. I got some great styling ideas from S (major tip: go to Kohl’s for furniture!) and felt so comfy there S grilled us up a feast complete with her own burger recipe. It was delicious and the perfect ending to my drive!
It was so nice to see KK! During and after dinner, we watched the Olympics while vegging out in front of the TV. Best. Friday. EVER!
KK and S: Thanks so much for having me over! Can’t wait to see you both again very soon!
On Saturday morning, I drove to Ashburn, VA for Laura’s bridal festivities. The Bridal Shower was at 1 and the Bachelorette party was that evening.
See those watermelon bowls? That was my attempt at being Martha Stewart. I think I did pretty well only, I’d make them prettier next time.

After we everyone got some grub and chatted for a little, I began the games! I’d been nervous about these games for awhile since I’ve never done Bridal Shower games before! I think I did okay though Everyone’s favorite game was the questions game. I emailed both Laura and Conrad last week and had them answer the same questions (favorite color, favorite Thankgiving dish, etc). During the game, I read the question and gave an answer. The guests had to decide the answer belonged to Laura, Conrad, or both of them. It was fun!
Soon, we were opening presents.
Elise (Laura’s mom!) and Laura:
A very cute gift idea:
These was one of the prizes I made for everyone. It included PURELL, Bath & Body Works lotion, a bag of candy, and a small notepad. I out put them in little green buckets found at Target.
At one point during the shower, Laura complimented my Stella & Dot Revival necklace, and everyone was curious about the jewelry! I ran out to my car and grabbed some catalogs. It was so funny because it turned into a mini trunk show! I love Stella & Dot! I can’t wait for the trunk shows I have coming up!
I love Laura’s bow bouquet that was created during present opening!
Soon, it was time for the Bachelorette Party!
First, we went to the American Tap Room in Reston. THEY HAVE LIGHT-UP MENU’S. I was astonished.
I kept it simple and ordered mac & cheese and a chopped salad. Meh, it was okay. Aside from the company, it wasn’t too memorable! Next, we went to The Tasting Room Wine Bar & Shop for some wine. The ambiance was lovely and the vibe was very chill.
After that, we went to a few more bars… but, as they say, whatever happens at the Bachelorette Party stays at the Bachelorette Party! It was a great night and I think Laura had a day and night to remember
I can’t wait until October 20 to witness Laura and Conrad walk down the aisle! <3
I hope you have a wonderful and productive Monday! Stay tuned, I have another fun giveaway planned for this week!
