My first couple days of being 28 were just dandy. I really don’t feel a year over 21. Oh wait, who am I kidding? Anyways, on my actual birthday, one of my best friends, Erin, took me out to get sushi at her favorite place. Lucky for us, it was half-off sushi day so we practically ordered the whole menu + two very strong cocktails.
Then, we proceeded to talk about everything. And, when I say everything, I mean it. We have the type of friendship where nothing is off limits… and I love it! Lastly, the waitress brought out this sparkly dessert and I tried to blow it out, but nothing happened. Clearly, I was confused. Eventually it went out on its own. Afterwards, we went back to Erin’s house and hung out at her pool. It was the best birthday everrrr… so laid back and chill.
Last night, Todd’s mom, Karen, took me out to Aladdin’s for some good old fashion hummus and pita rolls. It was so nice of her to take me out for my birthday! Also, she BROUGHT ME MY VERY OWN ELMWOOD BAKERY CAKE*. It’s basically the best thing ever. She took a couple slices home and I now have a gigantic cake in my freezer. I have a feeling I’m going to have a late night slice tomorrow night…
Karen also gave me a wonderful gift card and some gourmet POPCORN (my favorite food ever). It’s been a great couple days! Oh and guess what? I started work on Wednesday. I’m officially back on my regular schedule and said a sad goodbye to Summer Break 2012. I’m so excited for this year – I’m going to seize it and just do the best I can.
Two things I found on Facebook thing week that made me go “Hehe”:
*Elmwood, please, please update your website! I love you so much and the fact that you don’t have an awesome website makes me sad. <3, A Cake Lovin’ CustomerPin It
