I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!
This weekend, I attended a family wedding in Pittsburgh. My cousin, Alyse, got married to a wonderful guy named Marat. The weekend will filled with love and fun, plus it was Todd’s first time in the ‘burgh. We drove in on Friday night and went straight to Thai Cuisine for a casual dinner with extended family. It was such a fun night catching up with everyone and introducing Todd to my Pittsburgh fam. We all ordered a random sampling of entrees and shared everything. It was perfect!
On Saturday, we woke up and ran 3 miles (!).
Yep, I am finally getting back into my running groove. In fact, I need to blog about this soon.
The worst (and maybe best?) part about running in Pittsburgh is all the damn hills. My dad recommended a good trail nearby, but he failed to mention that the first 1.5 miles was a steady incline. But since we did an out and back route, we got to run downhill the second half. Woot!
After the run, we went to Primanti Brothers. Mmmmm… I wish we had one in Cleveland.
Then, we drove around Pittsburgh and I showed Todd Mt. Lebanon, the town where I grew up. It was extremely nostalgic I even ran into an old neighbor while spying on my old house. Ahhh… memories
On Saturday night, we had the rehearsal dinner at the Renaissance Hotel. First, was cocktail hour complete with an open bar and hor dourves.

My cousins, Cassie and Max, and I:
Marat’s family is big on toasts, it’s part of their culture (his family is from Ukrain). I just knew I had to represent our side of the family, so naturally I gave a speech honoring Alyse I was quite nervous, but I had a couple glasses of wine at that point. I think it went well. Luckily, I had my little (to me, she’s 17!) cousin Cassie standing next to me while I spoke.
Alyse giving her speech. She looked beautiful and glowing the entire weekend!
On Sunday, we went to my Great Aunt Joyce and Great Uncle Ernie’s house for brunch. She made quite the spread and again, it was pretty awesome to hang out with everyone. My family rocks.

I’ll be blogging about the rest of the wedding tomorrow.
One more thing… I found this awesome deal on Living Social today for a Von Vonni Transformer Dress. The cost is originally $120, but it’s only $59 on living social! You can wear it like 30 different ways and it comes in one size fits all. Since I’ve read awesome reviews on this dress, I decided to buy it. I bought the short option in Kelly Green and I hope it comes in the mail before the next wedding I have on September 14. The deal is still on for a few more days!
I was very happy to find this deal, because I had quite the drama-rama on Sunday with a particular dress. I’ll share that story with you during Part 2!
