Movies, Cocktails, and Luxe, Oh My! (Cleveland Giveaway!)

Happy Monday (or is it…?)!

This weekend was somewhat productive. I’m moving next week so I really made a huge dent in packing, purging, and cleaning. I’m also trying to eat everything in my kitchen so I don’t have to move it. I have a lot of canned soup to eat up. I love soup, but I hate opening the can because it always splats everywhere without fail.

I have many more exciting things to blog about, like the Movie Gala at the Capitol Theatre in the Gordon Square Arts District which is hosted by the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). I was contacted by CCFA to become an official blogger for this event, which means they are giving me 2 general admission tickets to attend and 2 general admission tickets to giveaway to YOU! What is Crohn’s disease/ulcerative colitis?

According to CCFA’s very informational website, Crohn’s disease, named after Dr. Burrill B. Crohn, may affect about 700,000 Americans. It’s a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract. Ulcerative colitis is another chronic disease that affects the colon and causes the lining to become inflamed and develop tiny sores. Both disease’s belong to a group of conditions called Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) and if found in children, it may delay growth and development. For more information, check out the CCFA website or locate a Chrohn’s or colitis doctor. CCFA’s mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

What/When/Where about the movie gala?

The Movie Gala will be held on October 25 from 7 – 11 pm at the Capitol Theatre. The event benefits CCFA and tickets are available by calling 216-524-770 or purchasing online. The general admission tickets ($50 each) are a great deal for a nice night out. They include food, two drink tickets and a movie ticket. VIP tickets ($100) include food, an open bar and a movie ticket.

Catered by Luxe Kitchen & Lounge, the gala will have food stations, cocktails, a raffle and staggered film screenings starting at 9 pm. Cocktail attire is recommended. I’m looking forward to this event for four main reasons: First, it’s for a good cause. Second, I love going to movies! This event is going to make my typical Saturday chick night flick look like a commercial Third, I can’t wait to try Luxe! I’ve heard wonderful things but haven’t made it there yet. Clearly, my time has come to try their food. Fourth, it’s going to be a fun date night with Todd!
