West Side Market People’s Party

Hi, hi!

Happy Monday, friends!

It’s Sunday night as I type this and Halloween in Lakewood. I wish I lived in an apartment building that did the trick or treating thing. When I lived in Silver Spring, MD, my apartment building made a whole night of it. I think that’s the one downside of apartment living – not necessarily having a neighborhood to give out candy. I hope the children who live in this building are going out to the surrounding neighborhoods! Oh and speaking of trick or treating, I could use some Tootsie Rolls. I may run to CVS and pick some up…

{update… I totally just went and got some… yum!}

Melanie sent me this picture tonight of Liam as a mailman. I seriously can’t get over the cuteness.

This weekend was really fun, but on a side note, my old apartment lease was up on Wednesday. Unfortunately, power was out until Friday so I wasn’t able to get in there and do last minute cleaning until that night. Todd and I planned to go to the West Side Market People’s Party {last minute, we were able to get tickets} but we had to clean first. What a rockin’ Friday night it started out to be! ;-) At least the old apartment is now a distant memory. Shutting the door to that place just opened the door to so much more…

After cleaning, Todd and I finally made it out to downtown to the party. We didn’t get there until 10:15-10:30ish. I heard there was a ton of food at the beginning, but by the time we got there, there was just a little left. The food we did have was great and we had a blast! I guess next time we need to show up on time!

It was held at Crop Bistro {last time I was there was in February with Crystal and Lindsay!} and they used the gorgeous space so efficiently. The People’s Party was sold out and with 1,000 people there, it was easy to get lost in the fun.

The highlight of my night was sampling Hungry Bee Rehive Ale from Chef Kimberly McCune Gibson. {Major thanks to Crystal and Mark for giving me one of their drink tickets for this!}. I can’t wait to have more of this beer and we won’t have to wait long because they will be at Heinen’s on Wednesday. Yay :-)

That’s all for now! Enjoy the beginning of your week!

Glad you made it to the People’s Party – what a fun night!!! We were happy to share our ticket with you – from the looks of that pic of Mark, he didn’t need another one. Ha ha ha!

I was sad to miss this! Instead I was in the windy city for a wedding.
