Hi friends!

I will forever be obsessed with our scarves.

On Saturday night, a bunch of girls found ourselves at an event that we’ve been anticipating for awhile.
M-A-D-O-N-N-A
!!!!
Last winter, Jen emailed a bunch of us asking if we wanted to see Madonna. Um… is the sky blue?! OBVIOUSLY I wanted to see her!
It was a rare opportunity that I wasn’t going to turn down. We decided to go to Hodges, which was awesome. A lot of us ended up ordering the wild mushroom and ohio city pasta gnocchi, which was outstanding. I also stole shared some of Crystal’s baby kale and smoked mozzarella salad, which was great. Let’s just say that if kale always tasted like that, I would eat more of it.
After Hodges, we went to The Greenhouse Tavern and then to La Strada for drinks. I’d never been to The Greenhouse Tavern before and was pleased with their cosmos (they tasted like grapefruit in a glass) and the Cleveland view. I would love to go back.

After dinner and drinks, we headed over to the Q. I think Madonna was slated to come on around 10, but we found out she wasn’t actually starting until 10:30.

The concert was an appreciated theatrical performance although I must admit I was very a little uncomfortable with the first major part of the show. Madonna was on stage with her dancers and they were acting like they were shooting each other and the audience. Then, she ended up in a staged hotel room with her “lover” and killed him… it was odd and really disturbing. I don’t mind intense performances, but after awhile of the shooting and violence on-stage, I began to feel pretty uncomfortable and just wanted it to stop. The rest of the concert wasn’t bad, but I was hoping for more of her “old school” performances. While I respect the fact that she wanted to promote her new music, I wish she would have given us more of what we wanted. Also, Like a Virgin was sung unbelievably slow and dark… I could barely understand what the song was! This was a personal disappointment because it’s my favorite Madonna song.

Either way, I’m happy I went. It was very interesting to watch and I couldn’t take my eyes away which tells me it was a good show, regardless of whether or not she played “old school” hits.

On Sunday, Nidhi and I went to Katie’s house for something we’ve been talking about doing for awhile: We saw Magic Mike. Oh yes.

This movie surprised me because aside from the, ahem, eye candy, it was a great film! I’m no movie expert, but I felt like the characters were really strong and I was interested in the story line.
ALTHOUGH, the eye candy and the dancing was VERRRRY nice. No wonder Channing Tatum is the sexiest man alive for 2012. That is definitely something I can support
I will be buying that issue of People…
Enjoy your Thursday!

Loves this, loved Magic Mike, loved watching it with you and Nidhi. I may not have liked the movie as much without the expert commentary.
