I had plans to make a better blog post than this one for a Monday, but really, my heart isn’t in it.
School this week is not going to be the same. Reading the reports about Sandy Hook Elementary make my heart sink.
It really just makes me sick. It hit close to home too… one of the staff who was brutally murdered shared my position. She, and other staff members, died trying to save little lives.
I really think that our focus needs to be on the victims, both little children and the adults, and not on the shooter. I even hate typing out “shooter” because that in itself places focus on something that is nothing to me.
Our focus also needs to be on mental health services. Whatever your opinion, I think that deep down we all believe the same things. It’s just the path of how to fix this problem in our country needs to be figured out. The dialogue needs to begin and never cease. We need to discuss this way after this tragedy is off CNN and we all move on.
I don’t have any more words. Tomorrow, I will be back to regular blogging.
