A Ring Pop Proposal

It seems like just yesterday when I was in college at Kent State. All that mattered was class, friends, and what my plans were on Thursday night. My plans usually involved these girls…

{these pictures are what happen when you have a cute dog, three friends, some beer, and a random shopping cart}

hmmm…

On Thursday nights, we’d start at The Loft, specifically for frosty beer mugs filled with whatever $1 beer they had on tap that month. Then, Mugs, Rays, and wherever the night took us {frequently at Taco Bell before turning in for the night}.

Life was simple back then. Sooner or later though, we would start having weddings and life would become a little more real. Here is Meghan and I as bridesmaids in Stephanie’s wedding back in 2009.

Here we are in 2010 during my visit to Arizona.

About a month {ish} ago, Meghan sent me this box with a sweet note.

Asking me to be a bridesmaid in her Pittsburgh wedding this coming fall! This was such a creative way to ask bridesmaids to be in a wedding! Best ring pop proposal ever! Of course I said yes and I’m so excited. I am one of four bridesmaids including Stephanie, her friend Lindsay, and her sister Caitlin {maid-of-honor}. It will be a blast, I know it!

Meghan picked out our bridesmaid dresses too. How adorable is this little number? Ours will have a white sash instead of black. I love everything about it and know I’ll be able to wear it again {like all bridesmaids say, but I mean it!}

I love weddings and cannot wait for Meghan’s fall wedding.

Have you been a bridesmaid before? What are some creative ways to ask bridesmaids to be in a weddings?

Awww how cute!!! For my Bridesmaids I gave them all a bottle of wine and printed up a sticker that said something cute about asking them to be my bridesmaid and also a sweet note asking them to hold my dress while pee, keep me from becoming a bridezilla etc. One of my bridesmaids lives a few hours away so I mailed her a bottle of wine. For my sister I made a little gift bag of her favorite pop, candy and a ring pop.
When I first read this I thought it was YOUR propsal and I was excited to talk all things wedding with you.

That is a cute dress! And a super cute was of asking you to be in the wedding party! I love weddings, and I’ve been in two. That’s more than enough for me. I like to enjoy the wedding as a bystander, not as a key role. I was a maid of honor for my sisters wedding, and I was so frazzled about the speech that I didn’t enjoy it until after that. I can’t even remember half the day.

Love the cute pics of you guys – and that pup is adorable!

I asked my bridesmaids by presenting them with a personalized little wooden box full of things that were hints at the wedding: mini bouquet, fake mustaches, disco ball, etc and then the candy rings, lip gloss, nail polish, etc Tucked inside was a letter telling them why they are special to me.

I absolutely love the dresses she picked out – really cute!!!!!!!!! I’m still on the hunt for dresses for all of us….

love the dress! i actually just asked my best friends to be my bridesmaids a few weeks ago. my bridesmaids and i have been friends for about 20+ years. I took a paper mache box and inside the lid of every box was a collage of pics of that girl and i and inside was a juice box of wine, bracelet, a fake peony (which are our wedding flowers), and a card (from etsy) asking them to be “my maids”. all of them cried and it was such a special moment. this idea was courtesy of pinterest but i love the creativity of asking. i think when you do something like the ring pop, bottle of wine or cards it just makes that moment between you and your girls just that much more special!

This is SO cute. I just got the bridesmaid dress parameters from my best friend who just got engaged and I’m so excited.

I may need your help to pick out dresses!!

Awww, super cute idea for Bridesmaids! So creative and fun (and who doesn’t love a ring pop?)

Loved reading your memories of KSU too. Hard to believe how so much has changed on that campus already – it’s amazing!

What a cute idea! I don’t have a special way I asked/was asked, but I was asked twice to be a bridesmaid on Momocho’s patio (different brides). So, I guess I have a special spot!
