Yoga, Food, and Falling Gracefully

Heyyyy,

Before I get into my weekend, I wanted to share with you some hot yoga specials from Prana Bodhi! Check out their FIRST blog post {woot!} to learn everything you need to know. If you need a yoga buddy, I’m here to join you! :-) I am helping them with their social media efforts, so please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

How was your weekend? Mine was absolutely wonderful and I cannot believe it’s over! Boo – hiss. I guess that means that this work week has to fly by in order to enjoy the next weekend!

Friday night, Todd and I hung out with his co-workers and celebrated one of their 21st birthdays. It was really fun – he works with such cool people!

On Saturday morning, I went to a Bikram class at Prana Bodhi {I am still LOVING IT there… have you been?} and then met my friend Brittany for bloody mary’s and brunch at West End Tavern in Lakewood.

I learned about West End Tavern while on the search for a good Taco Tuesday. On Fat Tuesday, Todd and I ended up there thinking we could grab some tacos. But, instead they had a New Orleans inspired menu for the holiday. The food was amazing and we couldn’t wait to go back. While we still haven’t made it back for Taco Tuesday, I read on their website that they have a create-your-own bloody martini bar on Saturdays. Since I have a new love of bloody mary’s, I suggested we go there for brunch on Saturday.

The Bloody Mary’s were delicious and very budget friendly. They were only about $3.50 and there were so many fixin’s to choose from! Oh, and you know what’s funny? While walking to West End from the car, I slipped on the icy sidewalk and bruised my knee pretty bad. I like to think I fell gracefully, while on the busy street of Detroit, but is falling ever graceful? I think my legs were still shaky from yoga! And yes, it’s pretty funny how I slipped before having bloody mary’s. I’m a legit klutz.

On Saturday night, Todd and I went to Amp 150 to celebrate Katrina‘s 30th birthday! Chef Jeff Jarrett created an amazing fixed menu to celebrate the occasion. The whole day {let’s be real} the whole month, I’d been thinking about this night – I was so excited! The last time I went to Amp 150 was so good and I couldn’t wait to go back.

Happy birthday, Katrina!

It was incredible. I have absolutely no complaints and only huge praises. I will continue to look back at this meal, smile, and want to go back to Amp 150 immediately. I love it there! I wish I was a food blogger because I would go into the tastes more in detail. I usually leave that up to the pros.

On Sunday, I went to another Bikram class and then to a Stella & Dot training with my friend Christina! It was really fun and I drank a couple glasses of wine… it’s always a good idea to have trainings at wine bars, yes? The best part was that we WON a FREE statement necklace just for being in attendance! I am so excited :-)

Have a great week!

What a fun filled weekend! Everybody’s tweets from AMP 150 had my mouth watering!

I loved hot yoga, but unfortunately haven’t been back since the opening weekend. I’ve been so busy lately and won’t come up for air until April. I picked up a lot of time working at the cooking school so at least it’s self imposed and it’s not work work. I’m going to try to get a few days in here and there this month though (I hope!). I really want to do the unlimited monthly special, but for now I might get one of their March specials with the 9 class pass.

I LOVE West End! Their BMs are stellar. They have a $2 drink special on Wednesdays and they pour my Jack & Cokes just like I like them. We’ll have to meet there for drinks soon (after we get you to Pier W!)

Thanks for reminding me about West End!!! About 10 years ago, Chris and I would go there for brunch every Sat and we haven’t been back in forever. Yum.
