Egg Hunts and Dirty Martinis

Happy Friday!

Today is the last day of my spring break so I am working on my to-do list that I waited to last minute to complete. How is your day going?

**********

For Easter weekend, I stayed in Hudson at my sister’s house from Friday – Sunday which rarely happens nowadays since I live about 45 minutes away. It was a nice retreat and I loved hanging out with everyone all weekend!

Friday

On Friday night, my dad, Melanie, Valerie, Nate, the kids, and I ordered pizza. Afterwards, Valerie and I went out for dirty martinis and girl talk {so needed}. I love my little sister and wish she lived closer!

Saturday

On Saturday, Melanie, Val, Violet, and I went shopping at Classic Additions Consignment Boutique in Hudson. I never have luck at these stores, but Saturday was my day. I walked away with a beautiful green cardi from J. Crew and another cardi from White House Black Market. Both appear that they were never worn. <3

I love this picture of Violet… she looks totally unamused by our shopping trip.

A few years ago, my mom decided to start having Easter dinner on Saturday nights. It worked out so well since I was living in DC at the time, Valerie was in Miami, Ohio going to school, and we could still spend the holiday with everyone while not rushing back on Sunday. The tradition continues and I’m sure Valerie appreciates it because she is now living in Chicago.

We had a family Easter egg hunt. It was super cute. Gosh, I love Liam and Violet.

Also, guess who joined us for Easter?! Nidhizzle! {side note: Looking for a cute bachelorette gift idea? Check out her recent post!} Nidhi and Valerie are slated to be roommates when she moves to Chicago in a month {cue tears}. Having her over for Easter was a no-brainer. I’m so excited for them to live together! Whenever I visit Chicago, it will be a one-stop-shop. I can just visit one place and be done! {Notice my new haircut? More on that later!}

Sunday

Todd has been gone with the Coast Guard since March 22nd and it doesn’t look like he will be home until April 15th or later. Even though he was gone, his mom and step dad invited me over for Easter Sunday. She made us a beautiful dinner and delicious wine was consumed! I had a blast, as always. Todd was definitely missed.

All in all, I had a really fun Easter holiday. I wasn’t able to formally celebrate Passover this year, but really hope to start my own Seder tradition in the future. We used to have it every year at my grandparents house {who have passed away in recent years}. Every year during this time, I miss them.

Have a wonderful weekend! <3

Great idea moving Easter to Saturday, so much easier for travelers.
I’m loving the shorter hair.
It’s so awesome that Nidhi and your sister are going to be roommates. How convenient!
So nice of Todd’s family to include you even though he wasn’t around.
That would be really cool of you to start your own Seder. Somebody in the family has to pick it up to keep the tradition going.

Violet looks SO much like Liam did when he was a baby! Those are some strong genes. They’re both adorable! Also adorable: Your new haircut.
