Wearing Design Week: Good Gals, Inc; Plus a GIVEAWAY!

Hello friends!

How are you? Today I would like to feature one more blog: Good Gals, Inc. Kirby is the mastermind behind this blog as well as her own business, Good Gals, Inc. They make pastie set’s (yes, you heard me right!) that are cute, fun, and perfect for bachelorette parties, or just to have fun with! Her designs also made it to the Today Show. Another great thing about her business is that a portion of all sales go to breast cancer research. Kirby’s blog is more personal but still is within the aura of her business.

I love this design because it’s dark and unique. Sometimes I don’t like dark designs unless you do it right and Kirby does. Here is what Kirby says about her design. Later in the post you will see information about a giveaway!

Why did you choose those colors?
I’ve always liked the black background for blogger. I think it makes all the images and words really pop! I also wanted to stick to the colors that would compliment my logo for Good Gals Inc! Plus being such a girlie girl myself, I love the colors! Give me purple, pink and blue any day!

Why did you pick that design?
Good Gals Inc is all about being sexy, fabulous and sophisticated so I wanted the blog to reflect the style of the website. I wanted the site to be a little behind the scenes of the company since the blog goes back and forth between my personal life and a company blog. So the idea of a boudoir with the chandeliers is perfect!

Did you use a blog designer or did you do it yourself? Why?
I used the FABULOUS services of Penny Lane Designs. I saw other blogs that she had designed and loved her style. We had one conversation through gChat and she totally got my style. I’m very computer illiterate so I knew that I was going to have to find someone that could help with the design. I’d recommend anyone to work with Penny Lane Designs! She works very fast and is just a blast work with!!

Do you have any advice for bloggers about their design?
When picking a design, pick something that is YOU! Don’t be influenced by anyone else. You’re blog is personal and your design should be too. Don’t be scared to take chances and try different things. The great thing is, it’s a blog, you can always change the design.
