About
Hello and welcome to my little place on the internet! If you have any questions, you can email me at wearingmascara@gmail.com.
I started this blog in August 2008 because I’ve always secretly wanted to start a blog and I’m obsessed with everything technology related. At the beginning, this blog talked about random things connected to my day-to-day life. As this it has evolved and changed, so have I. My focus on life now is to be happy and healthy. In the past, I’ve struggled with body image issues, not exercising right, and emotional eating. It’s still a day to day process but I’m exactly where I need to be.
On my road to become both happy and healthy, I have discovered an intense love for running. Yes, me. The one who could never run around a track growing up. Me, the one who was overweight in middle and high school and thought the best cardio was snacking on the couch while watching after-school specials. Please click the Running tab to find out more about my running journey and how I got started.
While I would like this blog to be directed towards living a happy and healthy lifestyle, I don’t think I’ll be documenting everything I eat – at least not right now. For now, I’d like to just post about positive experiences. It’s my opinion that in order to achieve you’re optimal health, you must work on every aspect of your life – not just what goes in your mouth.

You are awesome! I’m so glad you found me so I could find you! Congrats on making the switch to a vegetarian diet! Email me if you have any questions or want any tips on eating vegetarian. I was a vegetarian for 9 years and went vegan in July.
Long distance relationships are so hard, but so worth it when they are so great. My husband and I did long distance for 3 years before we got married in Aug 2008. I can empathize with how hard it is
I love your blog!
Just found you and your blog via Side of Sneakers, where you had left a message… read your recent post and came over to your Welcome page ~ to meet you.
Nice to learn a little about you!

Love your outlook on life! Definitely the same view I strive for (sometimes falling short) but always aiming for. And although I’m living in Cali now I grew up in Baltimore and lived in DC for a while too – loooove the east coast!
Hey.. I follow you on twitter but have never visited your blog. I love Pittsburgh and I went to high school there. We were just there visiting in October.
